CAIRO - 12 March 2017: Egyptian Minister of Heath Ahmed Emad El-Din Rady discussed ways to upgrade 20 medical care units in Egypt’s poorest governorates with Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, according to a Sunday statement from the Investment Ministry.

Upgrading the medical units comes in the framework of a national project to improve a total of 1,140 units in five governorates, Qena, Asyut, Minya, Beni Suef and Sohag, the statement added.

The $75 million project is financed by the World Bank (WB). The ministry has received $30 million as the first installment of the WB’s soft loan for the project, it said.

“The ministry is coordinating with the bank to accelerate receiving the second tranche,” the statement added, citing Nasr.
