500 security guards to secure Al-Ahly elections

CAIRO – 29 November 2017: Al-Ahly officials have decided that 500 security guards are needed to secure the club's elections, which are scheduled for Thursday November 30. The club has provided 300 security guards, and A private security company is providing a further 200.

Major General Sherine Shams, executive director of Al-Ahly said that if 10,000 of the club's members are absent, the elections would be canceled, and a committee would be formed, headed by the executive director, to take over the club for a year, according to SuperKora.

Shams said: “Buses will be provided to transport the members from Nasr City branch and Sheikh Zayed branch to Al-Gezira branch every half an hour.”

The elections will be held on Thursday, there is a strong competition between Mahmoud Al-Khatib (also known as Bibo) and Mahmoud Taher for the presidency.
