70 of Rawdah attack victims’ families receive aid: Minister

CAIRO – 29 November 2017: Seventy of Rawdah mosque attack victims’ families received urgent financial aid by Social Solidarity Ministry, estimated at LE 10,000 for each Martyr's family and LE 5,000 for each injured citizen.

Director of Social Solidarity Directorate in North Sinai Mounir Abul kheir affirmed Wednesday that a specialized committee will deliver the determined aid to the victims’ families.

The government is also planning to allocate lifelong, inheritable pensions to the families of the victims of the terrorist attack that left up to 305 dead and 125 injured.

During a phone call to CBC television channel; on November 28, Minister of social solidarity Ghada Wali stated that the LE 1500 pension is exceptionally given out to the families of the bereaved, noting that the ministry is currently working on conducting a comprehensive social survey on the families lodging Al-Rawdah village in order to fulfill their basic yet unmet needs, including providing them with clean and safe drinking water, a proper sewage system and safe sanctuary.

Moreover, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi ordered the armed forces to establish a memorial to the martyrs of the Arish mosque attack.

A group of 15 armed terrorists broke into Al-Rawdah mosque in Arish City, North Sinai, leaving at least 305 dead and 125 injured.

According to eye witnesses, the terrorists came out riding two all-terrain vehicles which they ditched 150 meters away from the crime scene. They detonated a bomb outside the mosque, and then opened fire at the Friday prayers congregants.
