CAIRO – 24 November 2017: The ministry of interior’s Security forces began large-scale combing operations in Arish City, North Sinai, expanding their inspection around the terrorist attack area.

The security forces questioned a number of people who witnessed the terrorist attack.
They intensified a state of security around Al Rawdah mosque in west Arish City where the terrorist attack occurred, and reinforced ambushes with a number of police elements and modern equipments.

State statistics indicated that 200 were killed and 125 were injured in a terrorist attack at a mosque in Arish City, North Sinai in Friday.

A number of terrorists stormed Al Rawdah mosque in west Arish City during Friday prayers and detonated an explosive device.

The Ministry of Health earlier confirmed that those injusred were transported to Bir al-Abed hospital in North Sinai. The mosque suffered damage as a result of the bomb.

Eyewitnesses said that the terrorists set fire to cars that belonged to residents and blocked the road in Al Rawdah Village.

Security and medical sources in the attacked area reported that forces halted traffic on Arish-Qantara Road, and deployed ambulance vehicles to transport the injured to hospital.
