CAIRO – 23 November 2017: Nine Muslim Brotherhood (MB) affiliated elements are being held for 15 days pending investigations, after being arrested Thursday morning in a security raid.

A statement from the Interior Ministry announced that the terrorist elements in question are accused of planning assaults on army and security forces.

Early Thursday, security forces announced the death of three accused MB-affiliated members in a security raid and the arresting of nine others.

Security forces seized large quantities of ammunition and improvised explosive devices, found inside a terrorist hideout and impounded two booby-trapped cars.

This came as part of the Interior Ministry’s long-standing efforts to purge the country of extremism and terrorism, a destabilizing influence over the past four years, especially since the ouster of MB-affiliated President Mohammed Morsi.
