DAMASCUS - 21 November 2017: Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Pierre Krahenbuhl on Monday estimated the number of Palestinian refugees currently living in Syria to less than 440,000, including 47,000 students.

In statements from Damascus, Krahenbuhl said that the UNRWA faces difficulties in funding its activities.

During the summer, the agency suffered a deficit of about $ 126 million. With donations, the deficit reached $60 million, the official said.
