BAGHDAD– 18 November 2017: Liberation of Rawa town, al Anbar governorate, is the final victory announcement against Daesh terrorists, Iraqi President Fuad Masum said on Saturday.

He described the victory against the extremist group as historic, Alsumaria news channel reported.

"The president congratulated Iraqi people on the landslide victory against terrorism that was crowned by retaking Daesh last stronghold town of Rawa," Masum's office quoted him as saying.

The president congratulated army and police commanders on the victory.

Masum underscored the determination of Iraqis to achieve victories, maintain stability and rehouse refugees.

He, meanwhile, praised support offered by the US-led coalition and friendly nations in the war against terror.
