TUNIS - 17 November 2017: Tunisian security forces detained Friday four people suspected of belonging to a terrorist group.

The Tunisian Ministry of Interior said in a statement that security forces detained a suspect in the city of Monastir in eastern Tunisia after he threatened one of the city's officials.

The statement explained that police forces apprehended three suspects in Ben Arous province in northern Tunisia over accusations of belonging to a terrorist group.

In addition, one of the suspects confessed to belonging to a terrorist group called "the guardians of belief and Jihad" and affiliated to terrorist al-Qaeda group, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, the second suspect was a girl who the first suspect admitted that she was in contact with him. She confessed to her takfiri ideology, the statement pointed out.

The statement underlined that the third suspect also confessed to his takfiri ideology and that he was in contact with a takfiri element through Facebook.
