Iraqi army launches major military operation in Baqouba

BAGHDAD – 16 November 2017: Degla Operations Commander Lt General Mozher al Azawi announced on Thursday the launch of a wide-scale military operation to pursue Daesh militants east of Baqouba, Diyala province, Al Sumaria TV reported.

In statements, Azawi said that police and army personnel launched a military offensive to fight Daesh fighters in Kanaan, some 20 km east of Baqouba in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala.

Degla Operations have recently launched a series of military offensives in several areas in Diyala.
