CAIRO – 15 November 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi discussed plans for youth employment and reviewed the most recent data about unemployment and poverty rates on Wednesday with a number of ministers.

During the meeting, Trade Minister Tarek Kabil presented a plan to support small and medium-sized enterprises through the establishment of industrial clusters in the textile, garment, food and chemical industries, as well as complementary industries.

Kabil stated that the total value of these industrial clusters amounted to about LE 5.4 billion ($306.7 million).

He added that the government is working to provide LE 2 billion as loans to finance the establishment of livestock farms throughout the country.

Sisi and Kabil also reviewed the establishment plan for a wood factory in Gabon.

Minister of Planning Hala El-Saeed also presented a program for the economic empowerment of the ten poorest governorates with a total value of about LE 1 billion . The program includes the establishment of small commercial and service projects.
