Government shells out LE 125M on Minya’s schools overhaul

CAIRO – 14 November 2017: As much as LE 125 million ($7.1 million) were announced to be earmarked for the renovation of schools in Minya, said Magdy Nasr, president of Maghagha's city council, Minya governorate.

Nasr also added that they are currently working on constructing a school for the deaf and mute to be located in Minya; in addition to the construction of the Armed Forces Complex for primary education.

Last week, Minya’s Dandara village's renovation works were wrapped up; these renovation works included the construction of 50 apartment buildings.

The renovation works serve as part of the Egyptian Steel National Company’s nationwide initiative to contribute to the restoration of Egypt’s underprivileged villages. It was initially launched in 2014 in collaboration with Orman charity association.
