CAIRO – 13 November 2017: Aswan's Culture Palace hosts the third international forum for the interactions of African cultures entitled “The Folkloric Cultures in Africa” from November 13 to 16, in the presence of Egyptian Culture Minister Helmy al-Namnam.

Around 100 researchers, novelists, artists and thinkers from 20 countries, including Uganda, Tanzania, Tunisia, Algeria, Somalia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Chad, Sudan, Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Mauritania, will take part in the forum.

The forum will discuss various topics concerning African cultures including traditional medicine, and the African woman as a traditional culture carrier.

A book fair that displays the publications of the Culture Ministry and some publishing houses, in addition to an art exhibition entitled, “Egyptian Plastic Art and the Interaction of African Cultures,” will take place on the forum’s sidelines.

The first edition of the forum was held in 2010 under the title “Interaction of African Cultures in the Age of Globalization,” while the second was held in 2015 under the title “Identity in African Arts.”
