CAIRO – 9 November 2017: In a press conference, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi revealed that Egypt along with Arabic and European countries are all exerting efforts to add counterterrorism to the agenda of international human rights.

International and local media took part in the press conference on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum (WYF).

Sisi also announced during the conference the preparation of a high-level TV news channel.

Regarding the five months-old Qatari crisis, Sisi said that "the Egyptian policy towards Qatar is clear, and Egypt will not change its policy unless Qatar meets the demands of the Arab Quartet."

Earlier in June, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed diplomatic ties with Qatar over accusations of sponsoring terrorist groups and interfering in their internal affairs.

Concerning the Arab conflicts, Sisi said that Egypt supports establishing political solutions to the conflicts in Libya, Syria and Yemen.

“We should respect the peoples’ will,” Sisi stated. "Egypt adopts a clear vision concerning Libya and Syria which would assert their unity, and respect the will of the people of Syria and Libya," Sisi added.

Furthermore, Sisi confirmed that Egypt supports the Libyan National Army and not the militant groups.

The WYF invites 3,000 young people, represented by 60 delegations from across the world, in an effort to explore key issues facing young people and determine their role in implementing global development goals and combating terrorism.
