Culture ministry's foreign relations chief takes part in UNESCO meeting

CAIRO - 7 November 2017: Head of the Culture Ministry Foreign Relations Sector Hisham Morad left on Tuesday for France to represent Egypt in the 39th session of UNESCO General Conference, due to open later Tuesday and run for five days.

In statements to MENA before departure, Morad said he will participate in the UNESCO cultural committee meetings whose agenda includes a draft resolution on the conditions of educational and cultural institutions in the occupied Arab territories and the need of Palestinians to arrive safely to their educational institutions.

The meeting will also tackle means of preserving antiquities, manuscripts, books and works of art at the zones witnessing armed conflicts.

The session will also give special focus on the need of maintaining the social and humanitarian fabric of the occupied Golan Heights, banning trafficking and trading in cultural properties along other issues.
