CAIRO – 6 November 2017: Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned and deplored, in a statement on Sunday, the church shooting in Texas, expressed solidarity of the government and people of Egypt with the Americans.

Such crimes that refer to extreme ideology and violation of the human dignity, threaten security and stability of all nations, the statement read.

The international community became required to strengthen efforts and unite to take serious and immediate steps to face the perpetrators of these horrific crimes, the statement read. These acts contradict with social norms and human values and intimidate citizens, said the statement.

A shooting in the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday left dozens of casualties according to multiple reports. Reports said a single shooter walked into the church shortly before noon and opened fire, leaving at least 20 people dead. The shooter was reported killed.

Eight people were killed on Tuesday by a truck attack in New York’s Manhattan. Two days later, the Islamic State (IS) terrorist militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
