CAIRO - 4 November 2017: A number of international delegations and officials arrived in Egypt on Saturday to participate in the World Youth Forum, held in Sharm El-Sheikh under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

A number of African delegations, 30 participants from the UAE and the ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah arrived in Cairo International Airport Saturday.

A delegation of media professionals and journalists arrived Saturday in Sharm El-Sheikh Airport to participate in the activities of the forum. The delegation included TV presenters Khairi Ramadan and Moufid Fawzi, Dr. Mohamed El Baz, and Youm7’s Executive Editor Dandrawy Al-Hawary.

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri also arrived on Saturday to Sharm El-Sheikh.

Both Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will be heading to Sharm El-Shiekh on Sunday to attend the WYU.

Hundreds of young people from all over the world flocked to Sharm El-Sheikh, where the WYF will convene under the theme “We Need to Talk.”

The seven-day gathering will witness the participation of official youth representatives over 18 years old, leaders of various youth networks, head of states, media figures and around 250 young Egyptian expats.

Senegal's Prime Minister Mahammed Dionne will head his country's delegation to the WYF, according to an official Senegalese statement released on Friday.

Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports Abdul-Karim Musa arrived in Cairo on Friday to participate in the forum.

Famed Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy and prominent Tunisian star Hend Sabry are also expected to participate in the forum.

The forum will bring together 3,000 young people, represented by 60 delegations from across the world, in an effort to explore key issues facing young people and determine their role in implementing global development goals and combating terrorism.

The idea to hold an international youth conference in Egypt came during the third National Conference of Youth (NYC) in Ismailia. In July, Sisi announced the WYF in Sharm El-Sheikh at the fourth NYC in Alexandria.

The WYF sends a message of peace, prosperity, harmony and love to the entire world.
