LONDON - 4 November 2017: As many as 14 people were killed in air and rocket shelling that hit the Syrian city of Al-Bukamal in the eastern outskirts of Deir-Ezzor, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Saturday.

The massive shelling took place amid big displacement waves of civilians, Al Hurra news channel reported, quoting the observatory as saying.

On Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces have directed strong air and rocket strikes targeting Daesh terrorist group in Al-Bukamal city.

Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that six Russian Tupolev-22M3 bombers and the Kolpino submarine had carried out a massive strike against outposts of Daesh near Al-Bukamal city.
