CAIRO - 1 November 2017: Prosecutor General Nabil Ahmed Sadeq on Wednesday ordered referring terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) businessman Hassan Malek, his son and 21 other defendants to the Supreme State Security Emergency Court.

The 24 defendants, 13 of them still at large, are facing charges of joining the group and providing funds for it, in addition to assaulting police and army personnel and harming the country’s economy.

Also, Counselor Sadeq has ordered the arrest of the escaped defendants and putting them in custody pending trial.

The Supreme State Security Prosecution had arrested Malek and searched his house, where a number of publications showing plots to harm the national economy, attack police and army personnel and target the tourism industry were found.

While searching Malek’s house, the prosecution had discovered a publication, which contains a list of the US, the UAE and Saudi companies working in Egypt, as well as a map of natural gas lines in the country to carry out terrorist attacks against these targets.
