CAIRO – 29 October 2017: Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry heads to Greece on Monday to participate in round two of the conference of “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East" in Athens.

The two-day conference aims to discuss humanitarian crises which grip many places in Middle East due to religious and political conflicts. The conference will also discuss ways to protect the rights of these communities, the Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The conference is organizing a comprehensive dialogue among various regional and international bodies to enhance the concepts of peaceful co-existence and mutual understanding between all communities in the region.

Foreign ministers, politicians and clerics from the region will participate in the conference, in order to exchange ideas and points of view.

The conference will focus on the role of religious leadership in the Middle East region in tackling the refugee crisis, especially the process of reintegrating them into the societies of the host countries, the spokesman added.
