CAIRO – 26 October 2017: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail affirmed Wednesday that Egypt is moving steadily towards the achievement of sustainable development in various fields.

"The amount of projects completed through recent years equals the total number of projects carried out during the last forty years," Ismail added during his meeting with Luxor's parliament members after finishing a tour in a number of archaeological sites in the governorate.

Ismail also pointed out that the development of Upper Egypt tops government priorities in order to improve the services provided to citizens and to get the most out of investments pumped into the area.

Ismail, who came into office in 2015, said the coming period will witness "reaping the fruits" of the efforts exerted to achieve sustainable development in various sectors.

The Prime Minister added that a number of projects will be announced and inaugurated soon enough.
