CAIRO – 21 October 2017: Speaker of Kuwaiti Parliament Marzouq Al-Ghanim strongly condemned on Saturday the killing of Egyptian policemen in a shootout in the desert of Wahat on Friday.

Al-Ghanim expressed his deep condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and the governments and people of Egypt. He wished a quick recovery to those injured.

Kuwait stands firmly with Egypt and will continue to stand with Egypt and the Egyptian government and people as they battle terrorism, Al-Ghanim added.

The Interior Ministry said on Friday that security forces are still combing Wahat Road in search of runaway terrorists.

In a press release, the US State Department offered "profound condolences to the families of the deceased, the government and the people of Egypt."

It wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

"The United States stands with Egypt at this difficult time, as we continue to work together to fight the scourge of terrorism," the statement said.
