CAIRO – 21 October 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs M.J. Akbar in Cairo on Saturday, presidency spokesman Alaa Yousuf said.

Sisi highly praised the historical relations between Egypt and India, pointing out Egypt's keenness to strengthen them, especially after his visit to India in September 2016.

Akbar handed Sisi a message from India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which Modi hailed the Egyptian- Indian relations and expressed a keenness to develop a partnership between the two countries.

Akbar praised the role of Sisi and his efforts in achieving stability and peace in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed enhancing bilateral relations, as well as a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

They also agreed to continue high-level visits between the two sides and intensify consultation and coordination in international forums.

Akbar will meet with senior officials to discuss cooperation between Egypt and India in all field,s as well as the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
