Cairo, Seoul probe means of fostering military cooperation

CAIRO - 20 October 2017: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed el Assar discussed with South Korean Defense Minister Song Young-moo means of promoting bilateral cooperation in military and civil markets.

The talks were held on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2017, which kicked off Tuesday and will run till Sunday.

The two ministers also probed exchanging technological expertise in order to introduce modern manufacture systems in line with the current stage needs.

Assar then met with South Korean Minister of Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) Jeon Jei-guk, with the Egyptian minister asserting that he is keen to establish a strong relationship between Egyptian military production companies and their South Korean peers.

The two sides agreed to form a joint committee, set to be chaired by the two ministers, in order to follow up bilateral cooperation issues.

Assar then held other similar meetings with chairpersons of several South Korean military companies and discussed ways to foster bilateral cooperation.
