Palestine's UNSC envoy thanks Egypt for reconciliation efforts

NEW YORK - 18 October 2017: Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council Riyad Mansour has thanked Egypt for its efforts to conclude the reconciliation deal between the Palestinian Fatah and Hamas movements.

Addressing a UNSC session on the situation in the Palestinian territories, Mansour said "achieving unity among the Palestinian people is a top national priority."

He called for putting an end to Israel's illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories and taking serious steps to reconstruct the Gaza Strip as soon as possible.
