Al Azhar condemns Kawadis terror attack

CAIRO - 16 October 2017: Al Azhar on Sunday condemned a terror attack that targeted security checkpoints in al-Kawadis area northeast of North Sinai's capital city of Arish.

In a statement, Al Azhar hailed steadfastness and heroism shown by the martyrs and their comrades.

Al Azhar condoles with the Egyptian Armed Forces and the families of the victims, the statement added.


Twenty-four terrorists were killed and two armored vehicles were destroyed when law enforcement forces foiled a terrorist attack in al-Kawadis area earlier in the day.

The clashes also left six army soldiers martyred.
