WASHINGTON – 14 October 2017: Around 100 militants of Daesh terrorist group have surrendered in Syria's Raqqa city over the past 24 hours and were removed from the city, the US-led coalition said on Saturday.

"We still expect difficult fighting in the days ahead and will not set a time for when we expect Daesh to be completely defeated in Raqqa," Sky News channel reported, quoting spokesman for the U.S-led coalition Ryan Dillon as saying.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said earlier that Syrian Daesh fighters were removed from Raqqa city while preparations are underway to remove the rest of foreign fighters.

All Syrian fighters of Daesh left Raqqa with their families, heading to unknown destinations over the past five days, Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said, adding that they are about 200 fighters.
