DAMASCUS – 14 October 2017: Kurdish People's Protection Units said on Saturday that Daesh terrorist group is on the verge of defeat in Raqqa city, noting that recapturing the full city from Daesh may take only two days.

There are ongoing clashes in Raqqa city, Al Arabeya channel reported, quoting spokesman Nuri Mahmoud as saying.

Syrian sources affirmed earlier that Raqqa city was empty of Daesh elements. The rest of Daesh militants in Raqqa have surrendered to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that Daesh elements have surrendered as a result of the agreement that was reached between the US-led coalition and the SDF on one side and Daesh on the other side.

According to the deal, extremists have to go out of Raqqa city. Therefore a number of buses entered the city to carry Daesh militants and families out of it.
