CAIRO – 14 October 2017: This week the Airports Council International (ACI) will present the best 2017 air safety award in Africa to Cairo International airport for procedures that increase safety levels.

Cairo airport will receive its award during the meeting of the general assembly of the ACI between October 16-18 in Mauritius.

The ACI praised Cairo airport’s achievement following a general review of the airport according to the Airport Excellence (APEX) that aims to improve safety levels with ICAO Standards.

Egypt secured the second position in passenger traffic in Africa, with 26 out of 178 million passengers travelling through Egyptian airports in 2016, according to sources in the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN).
