CAIRO - 12 October 2017: One hundred Egyptian youth left here Thursday for Russia to participate in an international youth conference in Sochi in the presence of 20,000 youth from 150 countries and 7,000 volunteers to organize the event.

Head of Egypt's delegation to the World Festival of Youth and Students 2017 (WFYS2017) said the 100 Egyptian participants from the various governorates will participate in the festival that is to involve cultural, political, economic, science, educational, environment and sports events.

Sherif Gad was speaking before the delegation's departure to Russia to attend the WFYS2017, slated for October 14 to 24.

The festival has chosen Arabic as one of its six official languages.

Gad added that the Egyptian pavilion will include English and Russian posters and publications about Egypt's various governorates and the most significant monuments as well as documentary films submitted by the Egyptian Tourism Authority.

He said there will be cultural activities in Sochi, which will express the depth of relations between Egypt and Russia and the role of youth in communication among peoples.

The World Festival of Youth and Students is an international event, organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), a United Nations-recognized international youth non-governmental organization, jointly with the International Union of Students since 1947.
