Shoukry checks UNESCO elections’ third round results in Paris

CAIRO – 11 October 2017: The Egyptian delegation, which is now in Paris and chaired by the Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, headed to the Egyptian Embassy there to check the result of the third round of the UNESCO elections.

The Egyptian candidate for the UNESCO top post Moushira Khattab received 13 votes in the third of four rounds of the UNESCO elections.

Qatari candidate Hamad al-Kawari gained 18 votes in this round after he had gained 19 votes in the first round and 20 votes in the second.

Votes received by the French candidate Audrey Azoulay rose to 18 after she had earlier gained 13 votes in the first and the second rounds.

Meanwhile, Chinese candidate Qian Tang gained the same numbers of votes he obtained in the last two rounds, 5 votes per round.

Lebanese candidate Vera Khoury Lakewih got four votes in the third round.
