Fatah, Hamas meet in strict confidentiality in Cairo Tuesday

CAIRO – 9 October 2017: The upcoming meeting between Fatah and Hamas in Cairo on Tuesday will be held in strict confidentiality, Palestinian Quds newspaper revealed; manifesting that President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi called on Egyptian officials to continue assisting the two Palestinian factions in negotiations.

Hamas’ delegation is expected to arrive in Cairo within a few hours via Rafah’s border in conjunction with the arrival of other Palestinian figures abroad.

Fatah’s delegation will be led by Central Committee and National Relations Commissioner Azzam al-Ahmad, other members of the committee, Director of the Palestinian Intelligence Service Majid Faraj, and Deputy Secretary of Fatah's Revolutionary Council Fayez Abu Eita.


On the other hand, Hamas’ will be led by Deputy Head of the political bureau Saleh al-Arouri, the Hamas Leader in Gaza Yahya al-Senwar and members of the political bureau of Hamas.

President Sisi convened Sunday with Egyptian officials, urging them to maintain mediation efforts between Fatah and Hamas.
