CAIRO – 5 October 2017: Italian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism Dorina Bianchi said that the Egyptian delegation’s visit to the Vatican is extremely important within the framework of interreligious dialogue that aims to achieve peace among nations and various religions.

Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed participated on Wednesday in a mass held by Vatican Pope Francis who embraced the Holy Family journey in Egypt as an official Christian pilgrimage.

Bianchi said that talks with both the Egyptian Ambassador to Italy and the Egyptian Minister of Tourism are taking place, for the purpose of signing a protocol that would make mutual collaboration more beneficial for the public good of the two countries.

“Italian people love Egypt and are very convinced to revisit it,” added Bianchi.

On September 13, Italian Ambassador to Egypt Giampaolo Cantini arrived in Cairo International Airport to take office more than a year after the Italian Ambassador was recalled in the wake of Ph.D. student Giulio Regeni’s murder in Cairo.
