CAIRO – 28 September 2017: U.S. Senior Fellow and Director of the Mediterranean Basin Initiative at the Center for Transatlantic Relations, Sasha Toperich, hails on Thursday the speech of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi at the UN Security Council summit.

Toperich told Egypt Today that the president’s speech was “wonderful,” stressing that Egypt returns to its regional and international role.

Sisi’s speech in the UN summit emphasizes Sisi’s leadership in the world, and an indication that Egypt returns to its regional and international role after a period of political and economic turmoil, he added.

Toperich also hailed Sisi's speech on Africa as part of Egypt's foreign policy, as well as the free tax agreement that Egypt has with the continent, which is very important for opening wide prospects with the world.

"It is important to discuss the issue of terrorism and the brotherhood and it is not wrong to speak to the entire world about them as Washington people do not know many facts about this group," he said.

This speech asserts that Sisi is one of the leaders of the 21st century and plays a major role in the Middle East.
