Iraqi popular forces launch 2nd phase of Hawija operation

BAGHDAD - 22 September 2017: Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces announced on Friday the launch of the second phase of the military operation to liberate the western parts of Hawija district, Kirkuk province.

The second phase aims at controlling the rest of the captured lands till Zab area, western Hawija, the popular mobilization said in a statement published by Alsumaria channel.

Eleven villages have been liberated in Hawija district during the first phase of the military operation, Hawija Liberation Operation Commander Lt. Gen. Abdullamir Yarallah said on Thursday.
