Egyptians protest against Qatar’s support of terrorism

CAIRO – 21 September 2017: The Egyptian community staged a protest Wednesday in front of the residency of Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, to denounce his support of terrorism.

Protesters chanted against terrorism, demanding the U.S. to stop its support to Qatar.

Tamim is in New York to take part in the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

American President Donald Trump met with the Qatari Emir after the UNGA, where the latter reportedly confronted the emir with evidence that Qatar still engaged in terrorism-related activities, according to Jennifer Jacobs, Bloomberg’s White House correspondent.

“Trump has changed his thinking on Qatar dispute in last 10 days. Was presented with info showing Iran benefits from a prolonged dispute,” Jacobs tweeted on Wednesday.

On June 5, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain have turned on Qatar, shutting down of all ports of entry over accusations of the country’s support and sponsorship of terrorism, allegations Doha denies.
