CAIRO- 20 September 2017: Stéphane Romatet, the French Ambassador in Cairo, has hailed as "strong" relations between his country and Egypt.

The two countries are closely working together to fight terrorism and support the economy, Romatet said Wednesday.

Paris is keen on supporting Egypt through funding development projects in the Arab country, the diplomat said in a meeting with head of the national committee to counter illegal immigration Naela Gabr.

Gabr told MENA the French ambassador would work hard with her committee to stop the influx of illegal immigrants.

She told Romatet the committee would contribute to outlining a national plan of action to deal with illegal immigration.
