CAIRO – 15 September 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is going to meet his American counterpart Donald Trump on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held in New York.

According to statement released by the White House Friday, Trump's national security adviser H.R. McMaster said that the American president will also meet with his French, Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian counterparts, along with several other leaders.

On Thursday, Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to New York to participate in the high level meetings of UNGA after participating in the six-party ministerial meeting on the Libyan crisis, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid.

On September 19, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will kick off its 72nd session to discuss international issues of concern, including political, humanitarian, economic and security topics. In light of the increasing vulnerability of millions of people around the world as a result of conflict, terrorism, displacement and rapid change in the climate that leads to natural disasters, this year the assembly is adopting the theme “Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet.”
