New Italian amb. to arrive in Cairo on Thursday

CAIRO - 12 Sep 2017: New Italian Ambassador to Egypt Giampaolo Cantini will arrive in Cairo on Thursday to assume his post after presenting his credentials to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

Cantini served as the consul general in Jerusalem in 2012 and was part of the permanent Italian mission to the United Nations in 1989, the Italian embassy in Cairo said in a statement on Tuesday.

In 2016, Cantini was the Italian Foreign Ministry's assistant secretary general, added the statement.
