Algeria condemns attack in Sinai

ALGIERS - 12 September 2017: Algeria has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Monday a convoy of Egyptian security forces in the North of Sinai.

Spokesman for the Foreign Affairs ministry Abdelaziz Benali Cherif offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded.

Algeria will stand with Egypt in its war against terror, Cherif said.

Earlier today, a high-level security source at the Interior Ministry said that a number of police personnel were killed and wounded when an explosive charge went off targeting a security force in the North Sinai city of Al Arish.
