CAIRO – 10 September 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet with a delegation from the National Council of Churches (NCC) on Sunday at al-Ittihadiya presidential palace, an official from the Egyptian presidency said.

Sisi will discuss ways of combating extremist ideologies and international efforts of counterterrorism.

The Council is a congregation of Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox, and Evangelical sects; it focuses on interfaith issues and dialogues in the U.S.

Following terrorist attacks that targeted Egyptian churches and killed 48 people and injured dozens of others in the Palm Sunday festivals in Tanta and Alexandria in April 2017, the NCC voiced their condolences, according to the council official website.
