CAIRO – 5 September 2017: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abo Zeid has denied Tuesday allegations that the ministry’s delegation was conned by the organizers responsible for assuring residence, and transportation for them, while fulfilling their hajj rituals.

Abo Zeid has assured in a press release that the delegation successfully completed their hajj trip without any obstacles or problems.

The spokesperson has also pointed out that many of the ministry’s employees and their families and friends preferred to individually employ different travel agencies than the one the consulate in Jeddah has designated. He further explained that the ministry is not responsible for any issues arising from these agencies save for the one the Jeddah consulate has designated.

Abo Zeid has also emphasized the consulate’s immediate response to any complaints arising from ministry members regarding the designated travel. Abo Zeid has stressed that the consulate in Jeddah will continue to offer all and any assistance and support required to any Egyptian injured during hajj.
