At BRICS: Sisi to hold meetings with China, Russia, India

CAIRO – 3 September 2017: Egypt will take part in 3 high-profile bilateral meetings with China, Russia and India alongside the 9th annual BRICS summit which kicked off Sunday in the Chinese port city Xiamen.

The Egyptian Ambassador to China, Osama el-Magdoub, announced President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s meetings’ schedule in press statements Saturday. He said that Sisi will meet the Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Egypt will also take part in the BRICS Business Forum, a major side event of the annual summit, which is scheduled to be held on Monday, where around 1,000 businessmen will attend, according to press statements by the Egyptian Ambassador to China Magdoub. President Sisi will give a speech during the forum and will display Egypt’s economic vision to the attendees.

Ambassador Magdoub added that President Sisi will also hold meetings with a number of major Chinese companies working and heavily investing in Egypt.
