CAIRO - 20 August 2017: Egyptian security forces arrested 5 defendants accused of stealing LE 5 million ($ 2.8 million) from a car transporting money in Nasr City in Cairo.

Investigations have revealed that the defendants were former employees of the money transfer company.

The prosecution had ordered the release of three employees of the money transfer company accused by the owner of the company of stealing 5 million pounds from a car that they were driving to deposit the money in a bank, but the investigations proved that they were not connected to the incident and ordered the arrest of the real defendants.

Earlier this month in Alexandria, Al Raml's Court of Misdemeanors president was arrested while receiving a bribe in a coffee shop, and in a separate incident, the combating tax evasion head in Alexandria was also arrested after being accused of receiving a bribe estimated at LE 2 million ($ 1.1 million) from beach renters in North Coast.
