DAMASCUS - 16 August 2017: Daesh elements were killed Wednesday in air raids in Deir Ezzor, the Syrian army spokesman said.

Clashes broke out between Syrian army units and elements affiliated to Daesh terrorist group in the neighborhoods of Al Hawiqa and Ar Rashidiya and in the vicinity of the airport in Deir Ezzor.

The army units destroyed the terrorist elements' arms and ammunition, the spokesman added.

The Syrian Air Force also carried out heavy raids on the group's posts and supply lines in the city.

On a different note, clashes renewed this morning between factions of the Free Syrian Army and government forces in the neighborhoods of Jobar and Zamlaka in Damascus countryside.
