CAIRO – 16 August 2016: The Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani made an official visit, without prior announcement, to Kuwait on Wednesday, according to the Kuwait News Agency.

Abdulrahman Al-Thani has handed the first deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalad Al-Hamad Al-Sabah a letter from Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Abdulrahman Al-Thani also visited Kuwait on Sunday, August 13, with the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jabar who his Highness Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jabar received at Bayan Palace.

Before the visit, Amir Sheikh Sabah has sent messages to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar to assure the Arab quartet that Qatar will not cause any new harm.

During the meeting, the Qatari Foreign Minister handed Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed a letter from Tamim, in which he dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and the regional and international developments.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Emirates, Bahrain, Oman cut off diplomatic and economic relations with Qatar on June 5 as it finances terrorism, destabilizes the region, and has relations with Iran, but Kuwait is a mediator among them. They impose economic sanctions on Qatar.
