CAIRO – 14 August 2017: Abdel-Latef Al-Shiekh, the former head of the Saudi General Presidency of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vices and advisor to the Saudi king, warned against the Muslim Brotherhood group and those who call for strife, emphasizing that they have caused the calamities of this age.

On his Twitter account, Al-Shiekh wrote, “Be aware of those who provoke strife; Muslim Brotherhood group is responsible for disasters of this age, including murdering, catastrophe and empowering enemies to damage countries.”

“Muslim Brotherhood group is a virus that infects societies’ core, and if it is not uprooted soon, it will go viral in all levels,” Al-Shiekh posted.

Four years have passed since the dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in, which has left losses estimated in the millions of Egyptian pounds inflicted on state institutions.

After the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi on July 3, 2013, Brotherhood members and supporters staged sit-ins in Cairo's Rabaa and Giza's Nahada squares, calling for his reinstatement via threatening civilians with killing, burning, and committing terrorist acts.

On August 14, 2013, security forces set out to disperse the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated sit-in in Nasr City’s Rabaa al-Adawiya, along with the other sit-in that was located in Nahda Square in Giza.

The Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in, which was proven to have been armed to the teeth, was primarily forged by former Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated President Mohamed Morsi supporters and sympathizers in support of his “alleged” legitimacy.
