CAIRO – 27 July 2017: Injuries resulting from clashes between Palestinians and Israeli occupation forces have risen to 113 during confrontations at Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday, according to Palestinian Red Crescent.

Israeli forces launched flashbangs and tear gas on Palestinians near the Al-Aqsa mosque compound after Palestinians entered the mosque from Heta gate for the first time in two weeks.

Sky News reported that Palestinians managed to fly the Palestinian flag over the mosque.

Israel closed the mosque two weeks ago after violence in which several Palestinian and Israeli soldiers were killed, and put restrictions on Palestinians' entry, but recently removed the restrictions partially.

On Friday, President Mahoumd Abbas froze all contact between Palestinian Authority and Israeli officials and on Sunday cancelled security co-operation between Palestinian and Israeli forces in the West Bank.
