CAIRO – 21 July 2017: The Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered a speech on the future of Qatar in light of the current Gulf crisis on Friday, admitting the negative impacts of the crisis on the tiny Emirate.

On June, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain broke diplomatic ties with Qatar over accusations that the tiny emirate supports terrorists and extremist groups.

Tamim admitted there are ongoing disagreements with some GCC countries.

He also said all the allegations against Qatar are not true and praised how Qatari organizations and citizens dealt with the crisis. He also added that the crisis boosted relations with other countries.

He said the stage that Qatar is currently going through is very crucial. “We are not afraid to correct mistakes,” Tamim added.

He also praised the role played by Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to find a solution for the crisis.

He also commended the role played by Turkey as it signed the military agreement with Doha.

According to the agreement, almost 600 Turkish military personnel will be training Qatar's soldiers.

Tamim concluded by saying Doha is ready for negotiations to find an end for the crisis as the crisis has started to impact the tiny emirate.
