CAIRO - 17 July 2017: Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al Anani inspected Monday a number of archaeological sites in Luxor governorate.

A number of the governorate and ministry officials accompanied Al Anani in his tour.

The ministry issued a statement saying that Anani inspected archaeological sites in Al Qarnah and followed up on the restoration of antiquities there.

The statement pointed out that the minister also inspected the Valley of the Kings to get acquainted with the work progress in the lighting project in the valley.

In addition, he inspected the restoration work at Al Kabbash road after the work was halted in the aftermath of the January 25, 2011 revolution due to lack of sufficient funds.

The Kabbash road, aka Sphinx road contains 1,200 statues of the Sphinx with the body of a lion and a human head.
