CAIRO – 13 July 2017: The executive office of the Arab Ministers of Telecommunications and Information held its 41st meeting on Thursday at the headquarters of the Arab League headquarters under Tunisian Minister of Communication, Technologies, and Digital Economy Mohamed Anwar Maarouf.

The member states of the office are Sudan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Comoros, Qatar, Kuwait, Mauritania and Tunisia.

At the end of the meeting, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the Arab League (AL) Kamal Hassan Ali said that the session tackled the outcome of the meetings of the technical specialized teams via the recommendations sent by the Permanent Arab Committee for ICT and the Arab Permanent Postal Committee.

He further said that the get-together took up also preparations for the next sessions of the Arab Internet Governance Forum and the Regional Arab Digital Content Forum launched by the general secretariat.

These events are an opportunity to exchange points of view between the bodies concerned and decision makers, Ali reiterated.

He said that the meeting tackled measures to update Arab strategy for telecommunications that will be formulated according to international changes topped by the sustainable development goals.
